During your registered session, you’ll have an opportunity to get to know campus, learn about academic requirements, understand App State’s community expectations, connect with other students, and ask questions.
Students are required to stay for the entire orientation. Orientation is an essential enrollment checklist item. Students must actively engage and be present throughout the duration of the entire New Mountaineer Orientation Program. Students are required to check-out at the end of the day.
- First-year Students: Incoming first-year students must register and attend an in-person* orientation session on the campus that they will be attending for the majority of their classes.
*First-year students whose program allows them to attend classes fully online can select a fully online orientation option. - Transfer Students:
- Transfer students who will be living on campus and/or have not previously attended a 4-year university, are required to attend an in-person orientation session on the campus that they will be attending for the majority of their classes.
- Transfer students who have previously attended a 4-year university are welcome to attend in person or register for one of our online options.
