During your registered session, you’ll have an opportunity to get to know campus, learn about academic requirements, understand App State’s community expectations, connect with other students, and ask questions.

Students are required to stay for the entire orientation. Orientation is an essential enrollment checklist item. Students must actively engage and be present throughout the duration of the entire New Mountaineer Orientation Program. Students are required to check-out at the end of the day.

All incoming first-year and transfer students must register and attend an in-person* orientation session on the campus that they will be attending for the majority of their classes.
*Students whose program allows them to attend classes fully online can select a fully online orientation option.

Accessibility Accommodations

Contact the Office of Disability Resources, if you need accommodations due to a disability for placement tests or during orientation. Please submit your request for accommodations at least two weeks prior to your event.
